Jodhpur| Court has issued notices while hearing public interest litigation filed regarding the land of ancient Ramdevsar Pond (Talab) situated in Pokaran In Jaisalmer district, which was not recorded in the revenue records despite being Agor. Before the division bench of Justice Sandeep Mehta & Justice Rekha Borana Advocate Manvendra Singh Bhati on behalf of Balwant Singh said that the municipality had passed a resolution in the general meeting to register Agor land with the population & this offer was taken. Clearance for this has also been sent. Despite sending the proposal to the District collector Jaisalmer, the government has not registered the Agor. The ancient Ramdevsar Pond was earlier on 450 Bighas of Agor land which has now shrunk to only 270 Bighas. The on-spot report was prepared twice regarding this. Once by the Tehsildar & secondly by the District Collector, it was agreed that it should be Agor land rather than population but till date this land has not been recorded as Agor.
