land protection cell to take legal action while disposing of the PIL filed for
removal of encroachment on gair-mumkin pasture land in Kosana village of
Pipad city.
The Division Bench of Justice Vijay Bishnoi & Justice
Anoop Kumar Dhand after hearing the PIL filed by the petitioner Hariram, said
that in the petition by Patrika Group’s editor in chief Gulab Kothari &
Jagdish Prasad Meena’s case, guidelines were issued to remove the encroachment
from pasture lands, Oran, Gochar, Johad, pond, river, river bed, public road,
crematorium, graveyard. It was the responsibility of the state government to
look after this. In a similar case last year, the Jaipur bench had directed the
Chief Secretary to constitute a Public Land Protection Cell in each district.
The main function of this cell, constituted under the chairmanship of District
Collector, is to take appropriate steps after investigation on the complaint of
removal of encroachment from the public land.
