Arai | There is anger among the villagers due to the dumping of the debris of mines running in Dang hill. On the instruction of the administrative officer’s Patwari Ajay Gurjar and Sarpanch Kismat Bagri inspected the mines. Patwari prepared a field report and instructed to remove the debris thrown in the pasture land. Sarpanch said that illegal blasting is being done in the mines of the Dang hills. The rising Youthstar club of Dang and the villagers have complained to the Local Administrative Officers along with the District Collector about the illegal blasting and the damage to the land caused by dumping of the debris from the mines in the pastures. Despite this, mine operators are not stopping in legal blasting.
This blog is aimed at documenting the initiatives undertaken for the conservation of the pastures by communities across Rajasthan as well as efforts by Government of Rajasthan and Civil Society Organisations across the State. Foundation for Ecological Security works in partnership with the Wasteland and Pasture Land Development Board for conservation of the commons.
